The Bay Photography Group has been created by a group of enthusiastic, and creative photographers, who wish to explore all aspects of their craft.

We meet on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of the month, at The Uniting Church, 56 Exeter St, Torquay. Meeting at 6:45pm for a 7pm start.

Photography does not need to stop with a photo on the wall or your computer screen!!!

Understanding the fundamental basics of good photography is only the start, it opens the door to the wider world of photography.

Here at the Bay Photography Group, we learn to understand the techniques of producing a good image, by helping each other bringing, in guest speakers, accessing instructional or inspiring You Tube tutorials, and then, going out and trying them for ourselves.

We also offer regular special interest workshops, covering a wide range of genres, from Macro photography, Still life, and more creative processes.

Being affiliated with the PSQ (Photographic Society of Queensland) we have access to a host of professional judges, external competitions, forum and workshop opportunities

The B.P.G would also like to thank the Photographic Society of Queensland for providing a grant of $1,500 for the purchase of a projector, lights and stands. This grant will allow the BPG to purchase the necessary equipment to conduct digital and print image competitions for its members.

We encourage all forms of imagery, including video, and drone photography.

We have regular digital and print competitions, and also enter many external international competitions

The Bay Photography Group Inc would like to sincerely thank The Fraser Coast regional Council for providing the BPG with a grant for a new high-specification notebook. The notebook, supplied by Wide Bay Computer Services, will allow the capability to operate high – end software that will allow us to offer better training for members about taking photos of all and emerging genres, and in post processing techniques. It will also provide opportunities for participation from the wider community, and peak photography organizations within Australia, and internationally.
